1. President’s Message

Dear EAPM members,

We look back with great pleasure on the very successful EAPM meeting in Verona. This conference was not only the largest EAPM meeting since the founding of the society, but also a special scientific and cultural highlight. Conference president Mirella Ruggeri and her team have put together an excellent scientific program and organized the meeting excellently (see the more detailed report of the meeting in this newsletter).

The growth of the number of participants in the annual conferences is an expression of the growing organization and the increased degree of networking of the organization. EAPM is involved in European scientific initiatives such as EURONET-SOMA (we reported on it in our last newsletter) and CARD. The latter is a network of researchers in the field of cardiology and psychosomatics, which has recently submitted a request for funding from the European Union.

At the Verona Conference we held our annual General Assembly.
At this assembly the Executive Council was elected according to our bylaws.
Executive Board member Jordi Blanch (Spain/Catalonia) succeeded Dan Dumitrascu as the secretary of the association and Executive Board member  Franziska Geiser (Germany) succeeded Marta Novak as deputy treasurer.
Also Silvia Ferrari (Italy) left the Executive Board after long years of commitment to the EAPM. We would like to express our thanks to the three long-standing members of the Executive Board Marta Novak (Hungary), Silvia Ferrari (Italy) and Dan Dumitrascu (Romania) for their engagement. They have been deeply committed to the EAPM since its foundation in 2012.The newly elected members of the Executive Council are Adriana Baban from Cluj/Romania and Per Fink from Aarhus/Denmark.

Meanwhile, the preparations for the next annual EAPM meeting are in full swing. The venue for the meeting will be Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Rotterdam is a modern city that, in addition to the traditional focus on industry and commerce, has a rich cultural diversity.
Best wishes and see you next year in Rotterdam,

Wolfgang Söllner (EAPM President)
