Research Agenda EAPM
The SIG/Research Network was founded during the annual conference in Rotterdam, June 2019 as a result of a plenary discussion of the European research agenda on behalf of EAPM for Somatic Symptom Disorders, Bodily Distress Disorders and Functional Disorders. It was approved by the EAPM board.
SIG Aims and Goals
- Connecting European scientists in the field of psychosomatic medicine
- Working on the research topics in the EAPM research agenda:
- Assessment of diagnostic profiles relevant to course and treatment outcome
- Development and evaluation of new, effective interventions
- Validation studies on questionnaires or semi-structured interviews that assess chronic medical conditions in this context
- Research into patients’ preferences for diagnosis and treatment
- Development of new methodologic designs to identify and explore mediators and moderators of clinical course and treatment outcomes
- Translational research exploring how psychological and somatic symptoms develop from somatic conditions and biological and behavioral pathogenic factors
- Development of new, effective interventions to personalize treatment
- Implementation studies of treatment interventions in different settings
- Exploring opportunities for joined research
- Explore opportunities for dissemination of the research angend and related activities
- Explore opportunities for joined funding
