25th Anniversary Symposium is Functional Somatic Disorders – University of Aarhus

The Department of Functional Disorders in Aarhus, Denmark, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with an International Symposium on 16 May 2024:
From Somatoform Disorders to Functional Somatic Disorders and beyond
The focus of the 25th Anniversary Symposium is Functional Somatic Disorders. Despite major advancements in treatment and research in the last 25 years, Functional Somatic Disorders remain understudied compared with other medical and psychiatric conditions.
The Symposium will include plenary lectures, flash talks and poster presentations by young researchers with updates on the newest research results as well as discussions on future cooperative research projects and networking activities.
The overall achievement is to improve diagnostics, facilitate implementing of evidence-based treatment of and prevention in Functional Somatic Disorders and to work for destigmatizing of patients with Functional Somatic Disorders to facilitate that this patient group is given equal care and treatment as other patients in the healthcare system.
